Customer Review: The Go-To Pregnancy Book
I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

I bought it when I was pregnant with my eldest in 2001, and I referred to it daily. Douglas had an answer for my every anxiety and explained every single twinge and discomfort. It couldn’t have been better if I had a pregnancy expert on speed dial!

I like Douglas’ informal approach, she comes across as a trusted, well-informed friend rather than the voice of authority. She doesn’t seek to tell you what to do, she just lays out the information so you can decide what works best for you and your family.

When you are pregnant or have a new baby, guilt and anxiety comes with the territory. Way too many “experts” take advantage of that situation and try to tell you the one, true path. Douglas knows that flexibility is the key to a happy pregnancy (and good parenting) and she guides you toward making the best choices for yourself.

I also bought The Mother of All Baby Books, The Mother of All Toddler Books, and Douglas’ Sleep Solutions Book. They are all crucial parts of my parenting library.

Customer Review: Okay, but not great
I was surprised by all the stellar reviews this book received. While it does cover a lot of topics, I felt that it touched on them in only a very cursory manner. In addition, the author made a lot of snippy remarks that were very obviously aimed at “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and “The Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy.” That struck me as unprofessional and unnecessary.
